The Future Improvement Conference
Look! Squirrel! #33
When we’re worried about the future, the mind assumes the solution is always more improvement, more optimization, more fixing. The irony is that the harder it searches for happiness, the more convinced it becomes that happiness is missing.
The future is being treated like an underperforming employee who just needs more management. Meanwhile, the only thing naturally flourishing in the room is the Flower capybara being the observer of what’s happening.
Question: What if the thing I keep trying to improve isn’t actually the thing that’s missing?
